Poytner Online is reporting that the New York Times is planning to start selling the Book Review as a separate digital product. I think it’s a great idea; this is one of the times that de-aggregating content makes sense. It’s a discrete product with a distinct market base. On the other hand, I hope it will still be available with the rest of the NYTimes. Most customers won’t want to pay the same price for less content.
